How Your CSA Works

Welcome to the Hader Farm CSA Community!  The 2026 Delivery season is here, and we are thrilled to share our produce with you!  Here’s how your weekly or biweekly WEDNESDAY delivery will work:

The Monday Before Delivery:

  • Every Monday, Farmer Kathy will text you a link to the “CSA Delivery Preferences” form.  Please fill out this form by Monday at 11:59pm so that we have time to curate your share to your preferences.  On this form, you will have the chance to pick a couple of your favorite veggies and a couple of veggies that you do not want from the produce available in our garden.  While we cannot promise to fulfill all preferences, we will do our best to honor them.  In addition to what you select, you will also receive a random assortment of other vegetables and herbs.  Every so often, your share will also include fruit or vegetable that is not listed in the form, or a unique treat from the farm or our kitchen such as sauerkraut, baked goods, eggs, etc.
  • On the “CSA Delivery Preferences” form, you will also have the option to order additional add-on items such as eggs or bread (with more add-ons to come!).
  • If you have already purchased an add-on egg subscription, you do not need to request them again here, though you may purchase additional eggs if you wish.  Add-on items in limited supply (such as eggs) will be available on a first-come first-serve basis, but add-on orders of bread will be fulfilled so long as the form is submitted in a timely manner.  
  • An invoice for add-on items will be texted to you before delivery day.  Please pay this invoice to ensure delivery of your requested goods.  You will have the choice to pay this invoice in cash or check at time of delivery, or online if that’s your preference.
  • If you don’t submit the form, you will still receive your share on Wednesday.
  • If you plan to be out of town, please let us know asap so we can reschedule your delivery.

On Your Wednesday Delivery Day:

  • The produce from your CSA share will be picked fresh and delivered to you on Wednesday afternoon in an insulated bag, chilled with ice packs.  We recommend refrigerating or freezing your produce as soon as possible for optimal freshness.

On Subsequent Deliveries:

  • We love to hear from you!  Every delivery, you will have the option on your “CSA Delivery Preferences” form to submit comments, questions, ideas, and preferences.  Please do not hesitate to let us know how we can better curate your share to enhance your CSA experience.  We read every comment!

Housekeeping:

  • If you’re not at home when we deliver your veggies, we will leave the tote at your front door. We will collect it at your next delivery.
  • All produce will be packaged in individual plastic bags therefore you shouldn’t need to clean the tote, however if it does become soiled inside, kindly please use UNSCENTED dish soap or vinegar to wipe it down. 
  • Our DIY ice packs are non toxic, filled with water and Himalayan salt. If, on a rare occasion they burst, please dispose.
